Tri-Valley
Inc. is a private, non-profit agency that each year meets needs
of more than 4,000 clients, those over 60 and younger, disabled
persons in a 25-town area of Southern Worcester County in Central
Massachusetts. We pride ourselves on building friendships and
relationships along with providing direct support.
As
Tri-Valley Inc. celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2006, we settled
in to a rehabilitated building in the Stevens Woolen Mill, formerly
the carding room, where wool fibers were combed in preparation
to be rolled and stretched into batts. It is also a place where
some of our older community members earned their livings until
the 1970s. More than an office space, the building also is a community
Meals on Wheels preparation site that brings in our door each
day some of our most precious resources – volunteers.
People
in our communities contribute their time and financial donations
that extend our
ability to provide for people in ways that funding alone can not.
Ninety paid staff members working in concert with almost 1,000
volunteers to assist elders, disabled people and their caregivers
in South Central Massachusetts.
While a complete breakdown of our funding sources is available
in our annual report,
it is the willingness of individuals to share their time that
has helped those receiving of
elder services and our disabled clients to flourish.
More
than 93 percent of total revenue goes to the administration of
Tri-Valley.
We
are one of 27 state-designated Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs)
working cooperatively with many other agencies. We provide referrals
as well as services in person, by telephone and on the web.
Tri-Valley, Inc. is governed by a volunteer board of directors
representing our geographical area. More than half of our board
members are over age 60.
Tri-Valley
Inc. receives funding from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through
the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and from the federal government
under the Older Americans Act, processed through the Central Mass
Agency on Aging. We actively solicit grants from other sources
and we welcome your tax-deductible individual, memorial and corporate
donations in any amount.
