Day Care

People with
Alzheimer’s Disease and related issues have unique needs.
Physical factors affecting the brain cause behavior changes they
are going through. Day services for people in this situation are
suited to them.
In day care,
a specially trained staff of medical and social service professionals
works in three spacious area locations to get the most from each
individual’s capacity to function, to improve the quality
of life for the individual and his or her family, by reducing agitation,
disruptive behavior and the need for medication. Transportation
is provided in some areas.
People with
Alzheimer’s and related issues, or their caregivers, will
receive a written agreement outlining specific services offered,
based on individual medical, psycho-social and other needs. A care
plan is developed, as well as a plan for discharge from the program
when appropriate.
Physical and
social activities allow outlets for expression, energy and emotions.
There is relaxation and stress-release time, and counseling as appropriate.
There are opportunities for participants to build relationships
with peers and to improve communication with family members and
others who care about them.
Services are
provided with fees based on an income-related sliding scale. Contact
Tri-Valley Inc. to discuss general or special questions about
the Dementia Day Care program.
