Support Services

Sometimes isolation
settles around even a very independent person. For members of the
Tri-Valley community living at home, volunteer-based Community Support
Services are like fresh air, bringing in companionship on a regular
basis. This comes through a variety of services:
Friendly
Visitor is a way to have regular visits, to chat and socialize.
This service offers family members the security of knowing someone
else is looking in.
Companion
provides regular visits to homebound elders offering socialization
and support. In some instances,
companions and those they visit may venture out for brief errands
or for medical needs.
Telephone
Reassurance gives elders regular contact by telephone.
It’s a way to get support and just have someone there to listen
and share thoughts with.
All three of
these services reach scores of seniors in our communities each year
because their neighbors are generous enough to volunteer. Volunteers
receive training and orientation and give their time and good will.
Older residents
of the Tri-Valley service area should not hesitate to accept this
good will and contact us about these and other Community Support
Services.
