Congregate Housing

Congregate housing is a shared living experience for elders or younger people with disabilities. It allows for independence, privacy and individuality — letting people give a personal flair to their new home. It is also affordable housing with increased opportunities for socialization and to form domestic bonds with others. Tri-Valley has congregate sites in Spencer, Franklin and Oxford.

These are not staffed facilities, but residents receive community services and support from our agency staff as needed. An applicant must be screened for eligibility, after which time a team decides if the individual is appropriate for a congregate-living placement. Housing costs are the same as for subsidized housing: Residents pay 30% of their income for rent, which includes heat and electricity.
